Der dauerhaft hinkende Professor mit dem roten Schirm

The permanently limping professor with the red umbrella.

When I look at this picture, I see in it an indication of the importance of constructivist thinking in the social sciences. Every companion, when she meets me, sees that I am limping. To be polite, only some point it out to me. It is interesting that although I limp, I do not notice it myself when I walk. Over the decades my limp has become more and more pronounced, but so has my ability not to notice it. Even such objectively very clear facts are obviously perceived unequally depending on the observer's perspective. So, how strongly, than, may the observer's perspective play a role only in the perception and handling of facts which are less unambiguous (e.g. facts as they exist in connection with business decisions)?

PS.: Of course I am afraid that this limp will expand dramatically in the future ...)

Der alte Professor im Holsteinischen

This picture was taken by Andreas Scherer, a colleague from Zurich, at Gut Panker when we went on a Schleswig-Holstein tour on Sunday after the first annual meeting of the scientific commission "international management" in Kiel. After an early evening meal in the Genoese ship, a deer ran into our car while we were driving slowly through the woods, and everyone involved (including probably the deer, which then disappeared back into the woods) got away with the scare. The trim of the R107 was again attachable. Despite this incident, it was a nice day out in beautiful Schleswig-Holstein.
